Palm Sunday, parishioners of All Saints Church in Houston, Texas, left Mass and discovered that vandals had attacked the beautiful statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in the grotto at the side of the church. The grotto was erected in 1945 in memory of those from the parish who had given their lives in World War II. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the historic All Saints Parish, and the 150th anniversary of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to Saint Bernadette at Lourdes, France. Childhood contains a promise of growth. Like the Wise men who followed a star to find him, by meditating and reflecting on the Holy Child Jesus we can grow in love and understanding of the God Incarnate.
Father Damian Hinojosa and Ann had a wonderful time searching for, and writing about, the history and customs of devotion to the Holy Child throughout the world. From

It’s Time to Plant a Mary Garden
Indoors or out, it’s time to plant a
Mary Garden as a special tribute to the Blessed Virgin. A Mary Garden can brighten your landscape and provide a special place for quiet prayer. Apartment dwellers can create a mini-garden in a dish, suitable for a table or enclosed patio. Either way it is a great way to honor Our Lady.
